I'm new to this forum (but not to Dads Army which I have loved since I was a kid - I'm 46 now) and no doubt this question has been asked before, but I was wondering if the soundtrack of the missing episode "A Stripe For Frazer" is available to listen to or download anywhere at all? I know this was found in 2008 and am wondering why the BBC haven't released it commercially yet?

Sadly it does not seem to have surfaced yet. I'd love to hear it too. Welcome to the forum.

Just to let you know that the three missing episodes do exist as part of the radio series collection, they were on Radio 4xtra last year, I know its not the same but at least we do have some idea of what they were like.

Which 'missing' eps are you talking about. The audio version of 'A Stripe for Fraser' was on BBC Radio 4 Extra on 20-6-2013.

Thanks for this information. Yes I am aware of the Radio Episodes (I've got them all on BBC CD's!) - they are fantastic, but I would really love to hear the soundtrack from the actual TV episode of "A Stripe For Frazer". Well, of course I'd actually love to see the episodes someday. Let's hope they surface soon...

Yes, I love the radio episode, but I was talking about the soundtrack from the actual TV episode. I knew it have been "found" and wondered if there was anyway of listening to it... I'm surprised that the BBC haven't released it in some form yet.

My understanding is they don't feel it is up to broadcast standard. But I'd still love to hear all the same.

This is the radio episode, not the soundtrack.
The Dad's Army Appreciation Society have a copy of the TV soundtrack in their library, but you have to join the society and register to use their library.

Of course the tv sound track has now been released underlying the animated recon. This latter was available from the now very defunct BBC Store. On the last few days of this I purchased the ep. using Paypal but it consisently failed to download. Eventually I had to claim the payment back via Paypal as a 'non-delivery of a purchased item' - but the BBC's email address for Paypal transactions was invalid!! After escalating the issue further Paypal refunded me the payment. I believe that the ep. is around but you have to look for it.
