The following rules have been formulated by the moderation team to ensure harmony and the longterm good of the forum. They will be in place from now on, and I expect every member to please comply with them. This is to protect the forum, protect you the members, and protect myself
Rule 1 - If you won't say what you are posting to someone's face, or put it in a letter to them, don't post it here. We don't want gossip, libel or slander.
Rule 2 - While free discussion is encouraged here, please don't post hearsay or unsubstantiated info, unless you are prepared to stand behind what you have posted.
Rule 3 - Remember that this is a public forum and is read and enjoyed by all sorts of people around NZ and the world. And remember that all age groups including children are also reading so keep that in mind when posting please.
Rule 4 - All posts are to be made in clear, well punctuated English. And use the spell checker if you have trouble spelling. If the English language is your second language, fine - we can make allowances of course, but most here speak the English language fluently and we'd like to read it that way please. Phone text-style abbreviated and un-punctuated language is not permitted and will likely be removed if the poster persists in not writing their posts clearly for all to understand. Remember there are readers here of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds. We want everyone to have a fair chance of reading and understanding your posts.
Rule 5 - Please do not put moving image films into your profile signature. Some members with slower connections to the internet find that these often slow their use of the forum down.
Rule 6 - Personal attacks perpetrated by a member against another member will not be tolerated, and will result in disciplinary action and possible banning from the forum.
Rule 7 - Do not post replies to any spam posts. If you see a spam post simply hit the Report Post button which is found in the drop-down menu when you click the round gear symbol on the top-right of any post. This will allow you to leave a message for the moderators to see, so that they are alerted to the post and can investigate and delete it. If you reply to a post made by a spam bot, it can alert the spam bot that you have responded, and it will automatically start sending more spam. So DO NOT reply to a spammer.
Disclaimer: The opinions expressed on the Dad's Army Discussion Forum Forum (http://walmington.proboards.com) are not necessarily those of the Forum Administrator, the Moderators, or the Dad's Army Discussion Forum community, as this is a public forum we cannot control the comments made by individual members. Should you read any comment that you find upsetting please report the post and it will be investigated, and if necessary removed and appropriate action taken against the poster. If you wish to take up the issue with the person who posted it, do so off the board via Personal Message or email.
If the moderation team deems any posts are in breech of the above rules, or if they find anything else that is outside the bounds of decency and common taste, posts or portions of them will be removed, and action may be taken against those who made the post/s.
