As far as I'm aware it was the only time it was held at the Oval and yes Philip Madoc was there as we had travelled up from Carmarthen and he had a lengthy conversation with my wife as he signed autographs for us.
I recall there were many there including a few of the widows, Kay Beck, Althea Ridley and Joan Le Mesurier (whom we sat on the same table as!). I got quite a lot of autographs that day although I didn't manage to get Felix Bowness as he left early I think!

So lovely to see these clips. I love the way Bill threw himself into things so passionately to support causes he believed in and of course his anecdotes about getting the role of Hodges. I have a few clips myself which I must upload.

I went to "The Downs Crematorium in Brighton" to find Bill Pertwee grave lying alongside his wife's. Took me and my daughter ages to find as there are hundreds and hundreds of graves. You can actually drive around the cemetery as it so big. We asked at the office and even then it was only there about's in this area. The grave could do with a small tidy up but not to bad.
