I actually think they could remake some Hartnell lost series using the cast from An Adventure in Space and Time, David Bradley was superb in that, as were the supporting cast. And of course he has since appeared in the actual series as the First Doctor, I understand. I gave up watching somewhere into Matt Smith's dreary years and have only just restarted watching now that they have a new production team and Jodie Whitakker, who have breathed life back into the series in my opinion.

I think that thought was in the heads of a lot of Doctor Who fans, myself included. It's one of only two things since 2005, related to the series, that I've loved (the other being Paul McGann's all too brief return in the 50th anniversary year).
I've never connected with the new series (i.e. 2005+) and have now completely stopped watching (gave Jodie Whittaker's Doctor a try, but thought it was no better than the Eccleston to Capaldi stuff). It's a big thing for me as Doctor Who was my first love in TV terms.

So, in addition to the previously announced McNally (Mainwaring), Bathurst (Wilson) and Cribbins (Godfrey), we have Kevin Eldon (Jones), Matthew Horne (Walker), David Hayman (Fraser), Tom Rosenthal (Pike).
Of those actors, I'm only familiar with Kevin Eldon - and don't think he's a particularly good choice.

I have faith in Kevin McNally at least, and as he's playing Mainwaring he will be the hub of the production. I don't know anything about most of these actors, so cannot judge yet, and will wait and see. But at the end of the day they will never adequately replace the original cast and I think the radio versions of the lost episodes will still remain the best versions we have (plus the soundtrack of the TV version of A Stripe For Frazer with the disappointing cartoon visuals).
It does not matter too much about who the actors are, it's what they do with the parts that they have been given that matters. hope they do not try to create their own interpretations, I'd much prefer them to imitate the original cast - as their voices and personalities were a big part of the characters. The Am-dram productions know this, We're Doomed knew it, the 2016 film producers didn't, and their film was a huge flop.
When they released the cast list for the 2016 film I thought 'Hey they are all great actors so should do a good job." How wrong I was, it is a travesty, dreadful unenthusiastic acting with an even worse script. In fact all those actors I once thought were good I find difficult to watch in other stuff now as that crap attempt at a film tainted them so much for me. I hope the Gold episodes do not do the same with this new lot, even if I don't know who they are.
At least one good thing, the rumour spread about Sir David Jason playing Mainwaring never came true. I like him but it would have been awful if he'd played that part.
Now, who will be playing Corporal-Colonel Square, Warden Hodges, Mavis Pike, Sigmund Murphy, Private Sponge, etc? And will Frank and Ian make an appearance?
