Just a general question regarding the cinema in wartime. Pike often discusses films with his Uncle Arthur, but never one where the screening was stopped because of an impending bomb raid. Did cinemas carry on regardless or are there any examples where citizens were asked to leave the cinema because of the threat of a bombing raid?

There is actually a scene in the Dad' Army episode 'The Big Parade' where their cinema viewing is interrupted by an air raid, and Pike moans that they haven't even seen the Donald Duck yet. Here's a screen grab of what they see on the cinema screen.

So yes, I believe the movie would be stopped and everyone piled into the nearest shelters.
