A recently published article in the Sun newspaper about the cast of You Rang M'Lord. I should add that the tragic tale of Angela Scoular is heartbreaking enough without the need for an explicit description of her death, but that apart, the article is well worth a read.

You're quite right about Angela Scoular's tragic death, but the gutter press can't resist a bit of sensationalism even in a nostalgia piece like this... One of the reasons I've never regularly purchased a newspaper in my life.

Of course commercial channels screen plenty of 50 minute programmes in one-hour slots. They just don't show many 50-minute comedies. In that respect the series is a bit of an oddity and TV companies don't know how to handle it. A pity because it's fabulous and deserves to be better known than it is.

TVNZ screened the series here originally, and then maybe 15 years later screened it again in the afternoons. They are a commercial network, and they had no issues with the 50 minute slot. But I can see it being an issue for the BBC who do not have advert breaks.
