Anyone else notice this could be the only episode (apart from series one before they get their uniforms) when they don't wear their uniform?

The same goes for The King Is In His Counting House. We don't see the platoon members in uniform in that one either.

In Brain v Brawn the lads are only in their uniforms briefly, otherwise it is civvies and then Fire Fighter uniforms .

I especially love the discussion at the end about what went wrong at the dance ("coals to Newcastle" has never been such a funny phrase). Similar to part of "My British Buddy" - the fighting and shenanigans much funnier narrated / imagined than seen. And Arthur Lowe always brilliant when acting drunk.

I watched this episode again plus 'The Armoured might of Lance Corporal Jones' and have to say that Mrs Yeatman (Casson) is such a fearsome character. I'm sure she could give Mrs Mainwaring a run for her money when it comes to ruling the roost. I'll bet she would have plenty to say about the relationship between Mavis and Arthur, and I'm surprised that the writers didn't at least create one scene where the old battleaxe had a go at Mrs Pike. Sparks would fly in that scenario.
