Never get tired of this episode, nor of watching Pike strut about as a German officer. The way he ambles behind Mainwaring in the hall and then stands facing the platoon as if it's his right as an officer, oozes confidence. Must be down to those smart German uniforms. Even Frazer looks more of a soldier in his different garb! At this point, I expect the Captain to say 'We don't want that sort of talk.'
I still wonder how Jones sees the three occupants up in the bell tower since he never actually appears to look up - just saunters in and immediately looks left and tells the Captain where they are.
As for Mainwaring, he's none too pleased at the daunting prospect of explaining the incident to his superiors, but now he knows how the platoon felt when they had to undergo a court of inquiry in 'This bullet is not for firing.'
