Yeah that's true you see familiar faces pop up in all their show's. I know Ian Lavender was a client of David Croft's wife who was an agent and i wonder if it was the same for other actors who kept on showing up in the programmes.

the thing what i like is its very believable and a continuation of their characters from one totally different show in dads army to it aint half hot mum
its believable that ashwood (who plays i think captain bailey or something in dads army), that he got positioned out in the jungle
its believable that square towards the end of the war demanded to be positioned on the front line, but as a babbling idiot and the fact they dont trust him on the front line, they put him for `special duties` guarding a house where he can sit all day eat and get drunk, whilst he assumes hes doing `special duties`
hodges - maybe he couldnt handle the arp, or got sacked, and spent the last of the war as a tailor for the army
do you see what i mean, perry and croft dont change these peoples characters much at all and this is why perry and croft are such geniuses

Yes, they call Laura La Plaz the fake name of Paderewski Shostkovitch, both names haveing connection to music.
In It Ain't Half Hot Mum is was Gunner graham who regulalrly got called the nickname Paderewski, as he was the pianist. Ignacy Jan Paderewski was a very famous Polish pianist, composer and politician, a household name back then in Europe. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignacy_Jan_Paderewski
